Please Consider Donating

The Founders - A Shirt Off Your Back

“We are the proud parents of an Autistic son and we have been extremely active in the Special Needs community for nearly 30 years. Thanks to generous donations, A Shirt Off Your Back enables us to give back directly to those in need to help elevate their standard of living and improve their quality of life.”

Providing Basic Essential Items

We help provide basic items that most of us take for granted. It starts with clothing and shoes but we also help with items such as beds, mattresses, bedding, TVs, iPads and tablets, phones, bedroom furniture, posters for walls, puzzles, games etc. etc. The list of items needed by these folks is endless.

Help Where Help Matters

For most with special needs a trip to the store is too much either financially, physically or mentally. Our goal is to deliver items directly to the special needs community, no middle man, no mark up, donations directly from you to folks in need. Learn how we were inspired to create our direct-to-client model.

Advance Special Needs Awareness

So many wonderful organizations have driven awareness and significant change for young special needs children, however, after graduation many young adults get left behind. We support everyone in the special needs community with a primary focus on providing support for those in group homes.

“They would give you the shirt off their back”

…This phrase has long been synonymous with generosity and compassion and it is a core principle of our organization. It all started cleaning out closets and donating clothes that were never worn but we have grown into donating phones and tablets, TVs, beds, mattresses, bedding, furniture etc. all of which we take directly to individuals in the special needs community mostly those who reside in group homes. It may seem harsh and hard to believe, but the reality is too many of these folks have been cast aside or abandoned by their own families and only have Social Security and State supported income which barely covers the cost of care, we are there to support them however we can and do our best to ensure they live with dignity.
